Materials:
digital voice recorders
headphones
computer lab

Procedures
1. Students will view a webquest that introduces them to the project. They will work in pairs. One student will work as the singer/songwriter while the other student is the manager.
2. They will be responsible for choosing an artist from the webquest. They will use the webquest to learn more about the artist and his/her music.
3. They will use mp3players loaded with the artist music to listen to the style of music.
4. The students will then write their own lyrics to a song. They may choose the tune to a song they already know, a childrens song, or one of the artist's songs.
5. The song must include at least 5 facts about the artist and his/her country or origin. The song must last approximately 2:30.
6. Once the students has written the song, they must use the digital recorders to record their songs.
7. The manager must develop a poster to promote the new song, the singer and artist. A paragraph must accompany the poster giving us information about the song and artist.
8. Together the pair will design a CD cover for their song CD.
9. The songs will be played for the class, where the students will determine who deserves the Grammy.
Comments
My students love listening to certain artist in Spanish. I thought this would be a great way to get them involved in learning about the artist and Spanish music.
