Donated funds may be used to purchase technology products displayed in the shopping area of Digital Wish. This insures that the donor's funds can never be mis-allocated. Digital Wish does not send cash to schools, only wish list technology.
To prevent fraudulent claims, Digital Wish does not allow direct access to funding from the online system at www.digitalwish.org. We utilize a “virtual checkbook” which displays the amount donated to schools, but does not connect directly to any donated funds.
When a cash donation is made to a school, Digital Wish will contact the school directly using an offline directory to insure that the person claiming funds is authorized to do so, by the school. We make sure the teacher is on staff to avoid any fraudulant claims. As soon as authorization is received, the funding becomes immediately available to be used towards purchases.
When a product purchase is made Digital Wish will separately confirm the school’s shipping information using a separate offline address database. We always insure that product donations go directly to schools, to a designated contact person who is made aware that the donated products are coming.
