Galaxy Nexus UserI can't believe it is free. I have easily over 1000 handwritten note cards 4 words per card. I really appreciate this app. Producing the correct kanji with the correct stroke order is hard to begin with. With or without the AI just drawing them and seeing the correct way afterwards is brilliant. I haven't seen any problem with the AI yet though. It doesn't really affect your learning but the progress bar doesn't seem to update quite right or maybe something happens every third time, it is hard to tell.

Great app for to learn japaneseThis app has everything for learning Japanese writing basics. The guided drawing and stroke order recognition is fabulous and it addresses the extremely difficult usage of articles in the language. SUGOI DESU!!!

Easily the best Japanese study programObenkyo's features (including the best character recognition utility I've seen) are exceedingly well done. The interface is excellent and intuitive, as well. I had been struggling with writing Katakana, but I made massive progress in a really short time thanks to this app.

Very nice!Great overall. Would like to see app hold my place in the vocab list when I research a word. When I return to the list, it always takes me back to the top and I have to scroll down again. Otherwise, love it!!! :)

Helpful hint:Took me a while to see that tapping kanji many places leads to reference area, and tapping big kanji in reference area draws the stroke order, which is easier to see than static stroke drawings. Great, nice work, tyvm! Super great learning tool! :)

one of my favorite appsI've tried a number of apps for learning Katakana and Hiragana, and this one has been one of the best. The ability to enter in romanji (and not do multiple choice) makes for a good challenge in learning the kana symbols, although the interface is a bit awkward to scroll through. One thing I'd like to see improvments on are related to kanji and vocabulary. I am finding it makes it fairly easy to learn what a kanji symbol represents, however it adds confusion with what reading is to be used (I found it helpful to read the grammar guide on kanji to help clarify some of that). And much like kana, I find that multiple choice has quickly diminishing returns as an effective means of memorization. I've not tried the writing tests yet, however. That all said, I just want to say good work and I look forward to future improvements

Vocabulary needs enhancementsJust wanted to say the app is very good. The only area that really could be improved would be the vocabulary section. When doing the recognize word the word should be used in a sentence. This would help improve vocabulary even faster by seeing ways of using the words in a sentence.

Kampeki!This piece of application is superb! I'm a bit skeptical about the kana recognition at first, and I got roughly 75-85% correct on my first trial. Whats lacking on the recognition though is people's writing style might be different, I do need to adapt to the style that Obenkyo uses to get it correct. The particles are really helping me, I know it is still experimental but I have to say it's good. With more development I believe the repetitiveness will fade away and will truly give the uses a complete experience with the Japanese language. I'm currently using it for vocabulary and Kanji. Thanks a lot!

Love itRecognition is a work in progress, but you can correct the app if it didn't recognise your slightly wonky hiragana. Really enjoying brushing up on my Japanese alphabets. Haven't tried kanji part yet.

Sugoi!Shows both the basics and even the complexities of Nihonggo. You get to test your knowledge, plus it provides some corrections to make you review your answer. Works perfectly fine on my Galaxy Y.

Best Kanji/Kana AppSimply the best app for studying Kanji and Kana. It's easy to define custom lists to go along with your course/book. Many ways to review, custom font support, nice and clear interface, tablet support, and a great character drawing mode that even corrects your stroke order and direction.
