Love itRecognition is a work in progress, but you can correct the app if it didn't recognise your slightly wonky hiragana. Really enjoying brushing up on my Japanese alphabets. Haven't tried kanji part yet.

On Hiragana writing, ask for JI but give answer chi. Need more test for kanji: -Other levels. -reverse order:give kanji find hiragana

This is a great ap. Most of the katakana & hiragana I had to write on paper and ipod touch. No longer with this app, love it. And it's free.
