I am lucky enough to have some of the most amazing students in the world. We are located in a school district that is extremely overcrowded and lacks technology. Although the kids are packed tightly into our classroom, often don't have enough supplies, and have little technology, they are able to learn and grow by leaps and bounds each year. Their persistence and ability to adapt to their circumstances amaze me daily. This is the second year I have had these students (I moved from second to third grade this year and kept them all in my class) and I am hopeful that this year, our learning experience will be different and more dynamic. Although I know my incredible kids can learn and grow despite having a lack of technology, being able to give them devices to use to experience and apply what we are learning to real problems would be amazing.
