The technology will equip us with using an online textbook to provide our students with a continuously updated text written with the same content while being differentiated to the Lexile reading level for each individual student. This allows for each student to have individualized instruction that will provide students the opportunity to engage in discourse with everyone in the class because they have received the content at their reading comprehension level. There's no more relying on student’s whose reading levels are at the comprehension level of the text. Frustration due to being written well above the reading comprehension of the student will be eliminated, interest and understanding in science will emerge. Each student has the ability to be equally successful as the student next to them because same content is provided at the differentiated reading comprehension level. Menu options to demonstrate understanding will take place. No more relying solely on paper and pencil tests.
