My students need a Microsoft Surface Pro 4, protections plan, dock and cover. By updating my classroom with new technology, I will be able to “flip” my classroom by creating engaging interactive lessons and experiences for my students. A flipped classroom is one where students are introduced to content at home, and practice working through it at school. In this blended learning approach, face-to-face interaction is mixed with independent study via technology. Students watch prerecorded videos at home, then come to school to do the homework armed with questions and at least some background knowledge. One of the greatest benefits of flipping is that overall interaction increases: Teacher to student and student to student. Since the role of the teacher has changed from presenter of content to learning coach, we spend our time talking to kids. We are answering questions, working with small groups, and guiding the learning of each student individually. Additionally students will be engaged in the 4 Cs-collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication.
