If you truly love teaching you know that life itself presents enough obstacles in your classroom before you even begin a lesson. We have so many students that come to school dealing with home issues that I want my classroom to be their sanctuary and a hands on place for them to learn. If you let children explore and interact during lessons they will retain so much more information. Once they become excited about learning it becomes contagious. You have a full classroom looking forward to coming to your class.

My vision for my classroom is to have “Chill Stations” set up where they can go on their own to work on Iready lessons, these are online lessons I make up for each student depending on their strengths and weaknesses. The chill stations are centers with bean bag chairs, pillows, and a carpet but we are missing the technology of laptops to get this Chill Stations active . Students are embarrassed to ask for help in middle school because they worry about what their peers will think. This station will allow me to set up remedial work for the lower students without the rest of the class knowing. This also works on the flip side with the higher students. I can reteach whole group lessons to the majority of the class who may need it and place the higher level students on computers to work on more advanced lessons. To do this and be successful I would need 10-20 new laptops for my scholars.
