The population of dyslexic and English Language Learners has significantly increased at Eau Gallie High School over the past several years. Technology has advanced to the point where the Smart Pen can provide success and independence hand in hand with teacher instruction to non-readers or readers who are struggling with the English language. We are currently using a reader pen on a trail basis with one of our dyslexic students. He is experiencing such success that his engagement in the learning process has dramatically increased. We would like to offer this same opportunity to other students.
