Since space is limited and our students need to be independent critical thinkers, iPods are the perfect solution for our listening center. Who wants to get all caught up on wires and lose valuable learning time untangling those messy cords? With the iPods, the students will easily access listening to the stories in the listening center. Listening centers help students build basic reading skills in a fun way fostering tracking, left to right sweep, page turning, and fluency. My English language learners greatly benefit from listening to a story to help them with pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and comprehension. Using iPods in our listening center, will not only help the students learn how to read; but it will also promote independence and responsibility among the preschoolers.
