We are losing 100 Chromebooks and there is no available money to replace them. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students depend on these Chromebooks to practice early reading skills and basic computer skills to build on in later years. Students who need extra practice in reading use depend on the Chromebooks to build their skills with Lexia and other apps. Our 4th and 5th grade has been 1 to 1 for the past 3 years and due to a change in district policy and firewalls, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is no longer an option. Instead of going forward with technology we are reverting. As a Technology teacher, I am working hard to enhance our curriculum and lessons to prepare our students for jobs we don't even know about yet. Without the technology, our students are not going to be able to be on par with those who have access to the technology.
