My students need teacher provided hands-on learning experiences that come from learning about STEM through hands-on activities. The money will be used to purchase supplies for the 3D printer (nylon filament), T-shirt press (transfer paper and vinyl paper) and Science Olympiad event materials.

Many of them come from parents who do not speak English as their first language. Some come from single-parent homes or homes in which parents work more than one job. Many receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day.
