Lesson Objectives:

The students will use technology to enhance literacy learning through phonics, phonemic awareness.

The students will blend/segment basic CVC words through applications.

The students will learn sight words through LeapPad applications and while working with a partner.

Each pair of children will be given a LeapFrog LeapPad to work on early literacy skills (letter names, letter sounds, blending/segmenting words, sight words). Students will be grouped by skills needing to be reviewed and learned.

Extension plans will include using the camera and video applications to extend and document learning of letter sounds and words.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Leap Pads can also be used for math, science and social studies applications.
