We are a suburban school outside of Austin. So, we have a sort of small town feel but also neighbor a large city.

My Philosophy:
I believe that we must prepare students to be responsible citizens of the society in which they will live as they grow up. In order to help them be prepared, it is our responsibility to provide them with a wealth of experiences and opportunities for learning and collaboration that help them to be thinkers and lifelong learners. Every child can and should reach maximum potential.

About Me:
I have been in education for 18 years, with 11 of those years at Lago Vista Elementary School. I have been principal here for 8 years. Two years ago, I moved to being principal of only grades 4 and 5 but until then, I was principal of all grades PK-5. Now I am also the Director of Federal Programs.
College and Degrees:
Angelo State University - B.S. and M.Ed. Universityof Texas Austin - principalship program
Activities:
I love spending time with my husband and almost 5 year old son. I read and work out when I can find the time.
Favorite Books:
I am really enjoying Three Minute Classroom Walkthroughs as a good read for a principal. I am also reading a book on RtI by Kim Gibbons but don't have the title in front of me. Personally - am waiting for the next Janet Evanovich book to come out to read just for fun.

Why Do I Teach?:
It is who I am. I love working with kids and seeing how their minds work. I truly believe that what I do makes a difference in the world every day.
