A standard elementary school sound system is what we are equipped with. When this school was built, however, the contractors had no idea of what Mrs. Nance and the population of our students are capable!

We are a high population of low-income families, but that doesn't define us. We are defined by the music that is within us. We have gotten by - but boy, can we do more with more resources! Dancing and singing is a huge part of our culture and we need a way to implement it more easily. When movement and music come together in the lives of these students, it is a sight to behold.

I am slowly but surely building a more professional performance environment for my elementary students. It starts small, but every bit counts. Since sound is so important, that's where we'll begin. I have hopes to install professional grade sound and lighting systems. Giving my students a small taste, though, with these few materials will make a world of difference in their performances.
