Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) is not just one day during National Engineers Week. It is a national celebration that exposes girls to engineering and allows girls to collaborate in a mentor/teacher guided environment on engineering projects. During 2013 Introduce a girl to Engineering Day was on February 21, 2013 and this year plans call for it to be around the same time frame.Because it is expected to be around the same time frame (typically during winter recess) a group of girls will be invited to take a tour of a local engineering site. Funds will be used for transportation expenses and shadow programming at the school.
