Grades 6 through 9 |
School: Glen Landing Middle School, Blackwood, NJ |
Planned By: Deborah Sulzberger |
Original Author: Deborah Sulzberger, Blackwood |
Students will be given a given era of music if you are working on the certain age of music, OR I give my students a date of two years earlier than the current year or before that they can pick from.
They must print out the lyrics and get them approved for content, and explain the creative ideas they would like to come up with for their video. Each student is told that they will be graded on : * Creativity/Orginality * Lip Sync * Choreography * Edited Video Production * Group Preparedness
They will keep a daily journal of there work and grade there own daily progress which is an individual grade as well as the group graded performance.
I supply a camera in class in case the students do not have one at home, but students may be able to do on location projects as well.

I have been doing this lesson for 8 years and been very successful, even with the limited equitment I have in my classroom! The kids get a real sense of what is involved behind the scenes in their favorite videos |
Cross-Curriculum Ideas |
Alot of students are interested in video production and are on U tube anyway . This gives them a little insight to what is behind a REAL video history and musical arrtists and you can use it in history class or reading classes to identify with characters! |
Follow-Up |
