|
Objectives:
1. Describe the appearance of various organs found in the frog.
2. Name the organs that make up various systems of the frog.
3. Understand that dissection is a method of scientific investigation.
Learner Expectations:
1. The Learner Will (TLW) observe the external and internal anatomical parts of the frog.
2. The Learner Will (TLW) simulate frog dissection through a virtual learning experience.
3. The Learner Will (TLW) analyze the structural and functional relationship of the organs.
Prior Learning: Students have studied the body systems and organs of frog anatomy.
Materials: Mobile Laptop Cart, Lab Report Sheets, Projector, Virtual Frog Dissection Software
Activities:
Engage: Preview the physical frog dissection with a powerpoint presentation.
Explore: Simulate the process of dissection virtually to illustrate the principles of form and function in living things. Students will cut, probe, and pin frog anatomical structures using virtual tools.
Explain: Summarize process exhibited through exploration by comparing and contrasting the structural, functional, and behavioral adaptations of the frog’s external and internal anatomy.
Alternate Activity (Emergency Filler): Frog Anatomy Label
Adjustments for Individual Needs: Students will be given a guided-lab report which involves filling in the blanks such as hypothesis, data, and conclusions.
Method of evaluation: Completion of lab report demonstrating application of virtual dissection. |
