Third grade math lesson: Poding through Math Facts
1) Reviewing each operation, their parts, and terms using a Smartboard matching game. (5 minutes)
2) Practice adding and subtracting one, two, and three digit numbers using our whiteboards. (7 minutes)
3) Next, practice basic multiplication facts by going to multiplication.com, playing one of the games with two teams competing with each other. Top scoring team after 8 minutes wins.
4) Hand out IPODS. Students locate the appropriate app for review of basic math facts, begin, and continually note their time and scores on their tabulation sheets. Their individual goals will be to consistently increase their accuracy. (12 minutes)
5) After, the IPOD review, the students will be rewarded with a puzzle time in the tangrams app site. (10 minutes)
6) IPODs will be collected and the students will be given their homework with practice problems reviewing what they have covered today in addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
NOTE: The IPODS would be available for use when students have free time to continue with the reviewing of their basic facts. |

| All the other items can be located in a Smartboard equipped classroom. Individual whiteboards can be changed to regular paper for holding up. |

| These IPODs can also be used for finding facts to add or subtract animal facts from an animal fact app or use the multiplication facts in the shopping app, making real life connections. |
