School: Southern Oak Elementary School, Largo, FL
Planned By: Bonnie Fulle
Original Author: Bonnie Fulle, Largo
Story: Three Billy Goats Gruff (any story may be used)

*Read the story several times with the class. This does not need to be done all in one day.

*Create stick puppets for the children to color, cut out and glue onto a stick.
(3 goats and 1 troll)

* Children can use these puppets to retell the story to each other.

*Record the children telling the story in small groups. Burn onto a disc to share with families.

*Record the children's voices retelling the story to put at a listeening center.

This activity is really helpful for the ELL children. It not only helps them learn the language but also gives them confidence. Children with learning disabilities or speech and language difficulties may also benefit.
Comments
I would love the opportunity to share the children's stories with their families.
