Amendment Presentation
Your group will research an amendment to the U.S. Constitution and create a presentation that answers important questions about your amendment. Your presentation must include clear, well informed answers to help illustrate the meaning of the amendment. The information in the presentation will teach the class about your amendment. Your group will be assigned an amendment by Ms. Levinson or Mr. Teller.

Step 1: RESEARCHING YOUR AMENDMENT
Use the research materials in your group folder and books to answer the questions on the research sheet in your folder.

Each group member should fill in his or her own answer sheet. You will turn this answer sheet in for a grade.

Put all the research together on the Script Outline Sheet

These answer sheets must be kept in the folder.
Step 2: WRITING YOUR SCRIPT FOR A 3-5 MINUTE MUSIC VIDEO OR NEW CAST
ć This presentation must do more than simply convey information about the amendment. It must do so in a creative and entertaining way.

ć Tell Ms. Levinson & Mr. Teller what type of project you will do

ć Your video must include:
1. Amendment #:

2. What your amendment says in your own words:

3. Year CONGRESS proposed/passed your amendment:

4. Year STATES ratified your amendment:

5. Historical Context:

6. Arguments in favor:

7. Arguments against:

8. Change to the Constitution:

9. Impact of amendment on the US:

ć For music videos: You must write entirely new lyrics.

ć Once your script is complete:
Fill out Script Check-Off Sheet to make sure you have all your research information in your script

ć Save your script onto your hard drive AND on the shared drive under Teller Levinson Amendment Project- find your period and your amendment.

Step 3: Rehearsal
ć Each group member must have a speaking/singing role and be actively involved in producing and creating the script.
ć Rehearse your lines until they are memorized
ć Once your lines are memorized, it is time to shoot your video
Part 4: Production and Editing
ć Once you have rehearsed and memorized your script, record your presentation.
ć Once you have your presentation recorded, spend the remaining time editing your video
ć When you are done shooting your video, see Mr. Teller WITH the video camera
