Students will be in groups of threes and will create a drug awareness announcement podcast. Students will use flip video cameras along with movie maker and audacity to create the podcast. Podcast will then be downloaded to teacher tube and other related school sites to share with community.
The following information will be incorporated into the podcast:
1. Name of drug (proper and street name)
2. Effects on human body
3. Extent of the problem
4. How the drug enters the body
5. How the drug is created
6. Local Agencies that offer help to abusers
7. How the drug is analyzed by scientists to convict criminals
Students will follow the steps below to complete the activity:
1. Pick drug to research
2. Research drug
3. Create a script to use for podcast
4. Create videos using flip video cameras
5. Collect pictures and other video clips to use
6. Create podcast using movie maker and audacity
Using a rubric, students will evaluate their podcast and share their podcasts with the class. |
