Students will be able to demonstrate cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and balance. Students will need to balance, climb, crawl, jump, hop, swing, and problem solve as they navigate around a series of obstacles.

After they complete the course they are challenged to create their own obstacle course in where they draw and explain it to the best of their ability. There is a winner selected from each grade level and those students get to create the ultimate obstacle course in which teachers and other students have an opportunity to overcome it.

Create your own Obstacle Course Contest
Do you have what it takes to create the most imaginative obstacle course Whitman Elementary has ever seen? Do you think you can design an adventurous course that challenges even the most advanced student? Well you are just in luck because Mr. Clark and Mrs. Rudnick have decided to create a contest for all the students at Whitman Elementary. Students will design and draw the most innovative obstacle course using the items from the list below. Students will also have to write a detailed explanation on how to use and complete the obstacle course and include it along with the picture.
Please hand in the finished obstacle courses to either Mrs. Rudnick or Mr. Clark.
Art honors and Art Smart students will be voting on the winning courses by judging creativity, artwork, how detailed and explained it is and also on fun factor. Winners from each grade level will be selected and that student will receive an award certificate. Those students will also be announced during the morning announcements. What are you waiting for? Start dreaming and start drawing!!!
