Through a slide presentation students will be introduced to various global social injustices. They will observe art pieces with specific messages of awareness and change. Students will research social injustice topics through reliable academic sources at the school library. Based on this research, students will convert factual information into empathetic ideas. To bring awareness to their individually selected, and specific social injustice students will create a poster in Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator. The research, message and poster will become the background information necessary for small groups to film Public Service Announcements on these issues using the Flip Video camera. Prior to filming, students will view and critique public service announcements and create storyboards outlining their video objectives.

Objectives/Purpose:
To initiate change and awareness through peaceful, yet power art.
To combine the skills of photo editing, graphic design and video production with research, critical thinking and problem solving.

Interdisciplinary/Integrated Subjects: Global concerns, current events, environmental studies, library studies.
