Image > Attributes = 9 X 7 inches
Create the following image and save it as a jpeg named Frame1

(There is a simple picture of a hill with criss-cross lines resembling a roller coaster and a small rectangle car at the top of the hill - this would not upload)

Erase the car and redraw it a little farther down the hill and save it as a jpeg named Frame 2
Do this three more times with the last one being at the bottom of the hill,
save them as Frame 3, Frame 4, Frame 5

Open Movie Maker
Go to Tools > Options – Change the Picture duration to 0.125 – OK
Import your five pictures
Make sure you are on the Storyboard and pull your five pictures down in order
Rewind and play the animation

Go to File > Save Project As
Name it Animation Practice
Browse out to your Student Resources folder
Save

Go to File > Save Movie File
My Computer > Next
Name it Animation Practice
Browse out to your Student Resources folder
Next > Next
Now wait until saved

Now . . .
Create your own animation using AT LEAST 10 images, don’t forget to change the picture duration and save both ways named Animation Final

EXTRA CREDIT:
Visit www.freeplaymusic.com and get some background music
Tell Mrs. Spencer which title you want and she will download it for you
Add the music to your animation

We use movie maker and/or power point to animate. Updated, more professional software would be AWESOME!
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
The "Subject of the Lesson Plan" could be incorporated into ANY subject. I happen to teach technology classes and so software exploration and creativity are my focus. Quite often, however, students make their animation to coincide with something from another class.
