School: Rock Springs School, La Vergne, TN
Planned By: Marilyn Burleigh
Original Author: Marilyn Burleigh, Smyrna
After a short presentation of how to use Microsoft Photostory by the teacher, students will create a project by choosing an image from Clip Art Station for each slide. The letter will be inserted and transition will be set up for the letter to appear over the image and then dissolve (A simple process through Photostory image settings). Teacher will assist children that need additional help getting started. A title page should be the first slide of their presentation.

Students will write a complete sentence about each image. Students will be given an opportunity to practice reading their sentences aloud and collaborate with other students to check for mistakes. The student will make corrections to their sentences and meet with the teacher for final approval on their sentences.

The teacher will assist students in recording and finalizing their project. The project will need to be saved and a copy burned to a CD/DVD for the student to take home and share with their parents.

Students can make invitations for other classes to come in and view their presentations. Their presentations can be shown at PTO meetings or at an Open House to share with parents and members of the community.

The teacher should plan for this project to take 2-3 weeks, depending on the number of computers that are accessible to students.
Comments
Photostory is a very easy program, but the teacher may want to team up some struggling students with other students that can assist them.
