Using the web browser on the ipad, students will google ocean animals. They will select an animal to research. Then, using the guide provided by the teacher, students will answer questions. Types of questions could include: type of animal (fish, mammal, amphibian, reptile), food it eats, body description, if it is a carnivore, herbivore, omnivore,etc., known predators of the animal, interesting facts, where it lives on Earth, etc. Students record their data.
Then, using a website such as www.biguniverse.com. Students can write and publish their own books. They may share these with the class. Also, students can add this to the classroom bookshelf and read at home.
