By having my own iPad, I would be able to use it during my classroom lessons as I travel from room to room each day. When I work individually with students on my caseload, I will be able to teach social skills through various counseling apps that are available.
Another advantage of the iPad is the ability to communicate better with foreign students and students with special needs that do not have the verbal skills to talk to me when they have a problem, but do have the ability to use special iPad apps that allow them to communicate in pictures and auto-read messages.
This iPad will serve many purposes, and will be incorporated in my lesson plans for classroom counseling topics such as Internet safety, social skill building games, and used to track volume of classrooms during my lessons as a visual aid.
I will also use the iPad for data collection on new students that may be added to my caseload, using special apps that track student behavior and compile it into presentable graphs. This will greatly improve my collaboration with parents and teachers to quickly get our students on a path towards success. |
