This lesson demonstrates to the students the importance of good research and development as part of the design process. The instructor will show the students how to find resources for their prompt question using the internet. After spending some time researching, (@ 10-15 minutes), the students will present their findings in their PowerPoint journal. Instructional Objectives: 1. As a result of participating in this lesson, students will be able to use the internet to research information for their PowerPoint prompt. 2. As a result of participating in this lesson, students will be able to choose websites to find factual information. 3. As a result of participating in this lesson, students will be able to present their findings in a clear efficient, and understandable fashion using PowerPoint.
Lesson Body: 1. Demonstrate how to search using the internet a. Search Engines i. Google ii. Yahoo iii. Bing b. Describe keywords i. What are they used for? c. Keywords i. “Robotics”, “Robots”, etc. ii. Phrase your search as a question 2. Demonstrate how to use the Split Screen feature in Windows.
