School: Vermilion High School, Vermilion, OH
Planned By: Mike D'Egidio
Original Author: Mike D'Egidio, Vermilion
Students will create a video flash card that shows the meaning of the vocabulary word by either acting it out or finding a static image for taping. Each student will be required to "act out" at least one word from the group of words. Students would have a set group of words from the complete unit and in groups of 2 or 3 or 4, would work collaboratively to complete the assignment.

The second part would be to create a video review image book to be placed on line for students to study. There would be an interactive aspect to the video where students would see the video and then see the word and definition to the word.

The possible third part would be a video word test where students would view the images without the words and definitions as part of a vocabulary quiz (or test, depending upon how weight much the assignment was given)

This aligns to the common core in regards to vocabulary acquisition and use of technology and viewing and evaluating various presentation types. This would also be a preview of some questions for online testing with the PARRC as their are viewing sections of that test.
Comments
Students already have a computer to use and would need the various equipment to film and create the videos
