Day 1: Students will read and discuss the book, "Me on the Map" by Joan Sweeney.

Days 2-4: Review "Me on the Map". Students will follow the format of the book "Me On the Map" to illustrate their personal locations within a map. They will create maps of their home and neighborhood. Students will locate their town on a state map. Students will locate their state within the country. Students will locate their country on the continent. Students will locate their continent amongst all seven continents. Resource: There are many pre-made books available at teacherspayteachers.com at low cost or no cost.

Day 5: Students will use Google Earth on the computer or tablet to find their home or school. Students will zoom out to discover how their home or school is within many locations. They will compare the Google Earth maps to their own. If individual computers or tablets are not available this app can be demonstrated on a projector.
