We are considered an alternative placement for students with Emotional Disabilities. We are housed separate from the surrounding public high schools. Our students have been placed with us for weapons, drugs, violence, and/or any other offense that results in expulsion. Our children also tend to be the most economically depressed in our region. Many have never traveled outside the immediate area.
Our school, sometimes, has a bad reputation due to the students housed here. The truth of the matter is that these students have amazing potential. Although they have made poor decisions in the past, their future could be different. Due to our proximity to the other public schools, we do not have access to any materials. If we are teaching a lesson on China or any other country, we do not have a library to access. If we are teaching Science, we do not have laboratories available.
Promethean Boards would open up the world to our students. We would have access to ANYTHING! We would be able to present, supplement, and reinforce.
We need 4 Promethean Boards. One for each classroom. Please help us! |
