1. Anticipatory Set
- Focus/Transfer: With technology, electronic presentations have become the norm. Microsoftİ PowerPoint has become a very popular program to create such electronic presentations. In those presentations, you can include anything you can scan or anything you can record. The possibilities are endless!
- Objective: Students will learn how to make an electronic presentations using Microsoftİ PowerPoint.
- Purpose: To comply with Computer Technology Standard # 6: Design, develop, publish, and present products (e.g. Web pages) using technology resources that demonstrate and communicate curriculum concepts to audiences inside and outside the classroom.

2. Instruction
What would I need PowerPoint for?
Knowing how to use PowerPoint, like all other programs, can be a life-long skill. You use PowerPoint to make professional presentations using your computer.

Presentations Galore!
When you open the program, you can either select a template (insert), or you can start a blank presentation. PowerPoint organizes your presentations by slides, having animated text, enriched with pictures. You can add text the same way you do in a drawing or painting program, or WordArt, as you did in Microsoft Word. But, how do I insert a picture?

Inserting Graphics:
You can insert all kinds of graphics. Select Picture from the Insert menu, and go to:
- Clipart (a set of cartoons and pictures you can use), or
- Color Photos (.jpg of .gif).

Now what?
You can now make changes to any slide, or add new ones. To make changes to a slide, select a slide number on the left and make changes on the right (on the actual slide). To add a new slide, go to Insert: New Slide, or Ctrl + M.

Effects and Animation:
You can add effect and animation by going to Slide Show: Preset Animation.

To View Slide Show:
- When you are finished go to Slide Show: View Show! ...enjoy the show!

- Check for understanding: Students will be asked questions:
- What is the advantage of using MS Powerpoint to make your presentations? (not only can you brag about it with your friends, your possibilities are endless!).
- What are examples of presentations you can do in class? (any topic from any class!).
- How do you insert a picture? (select picture from the insert menu, and go toClipart (a set of cartoons and pictures you can use), or Color Photos (.jpg of .gif)).

3. Guided Practice
- Teacher reviews the steps to make a presentation. Have the students come up with an idea and then divide that idea in parts, making one slide for each part.
- Activity: Have students make a PowerPoint presentation of something that interests them. Use your judgement to allow them to get pictures from the internet.

4. Closure
- Students take quiz on PowerPoint.

5. Independent Practice
- Homework questions: Microsoft PowerPoint.
