Grammar Lesson: Review of action/helping/linking verbs.
Grade Level: 5th Grade
Subject: ELA with technology integration
Time: 45–60 minutes
Objectives:
• Identify and categorize action, linking, and helping verbs.
• Use digital tools to create and present original sentences using verbs.
• Collaborate with peers to edit and enhance their work using

Materials Needed:
• Laptops/tablets/Chromebooks with internet access
• Google Slides or Canva access
• Projector/Interactive Whiteboard
• Verb Word Bank (printed or digital)
• Exit ticket tool (Google Form, sticky note app, or printed slips)

Lesson Plan Procedures:

Introduction (5–7 minutes)
* Show a short educational video on verbs (e.g., BrainPOP).
* Discuss what verbs are and have students act out some examples.
* Review action, linking, and helping verbs.
* Use tech-related verb examples: click, type, search, upload.

Main Activity: Tech Verb Slides (20–25 minutes)
Students work in pairs/small groups to create a slide presentation titled "Our Digital Verb Day."
Each slide must include:
* A sentence using a technology-related verb.
* An image or GIF to illustrate the verb.
* The verb highlighted and labeled (action/linking/helping).
* Requirement: At least one verb from each category.

Presentation (5–10 minutes)
* Each group presents 1–2 slides.
* Class discussion on the verbs used in sentences.
* Wrap-Up & Exit Ticket (5 minutes)
* Students submit one tech-related verb and its type using a Google Form or digital sticky note.

Assessment:
* Accuracy of verbs and categories on slides.
* Group collaboration and creativity.
* Exit ticket response.

Teachers can Adjust this activity for individual work or whole group based on class needs. Accommodations: Provide sentence starters or verb templates for additional support.
