Supporting you in your classroom
RM Easiteach has been designed to support all educational lessons across a wide range of subjects with learners of any age or ability. Both teachers and students can use RM Easiteach to create multi-modal activities that can include animation, video, sound, text, hyperlinks and Flash files all on one page. With over 100,000 US educators using RM Easiteach, here are more ways RM Easiteach is used in classrooms:

Easiteach is great for:
  • Engaging students in a new topic or project by incorporating videos and animations into your classroom presentations, bringing subjects to life!
  • Testing students' knowledge of previously covered topics by asking them to complete a sorting exercise or linking lines activity.
  • Brainstorming - use the mind map template to engage the whole class in a brainstorming activity.
  • Creating multi-modal presentations, using sound, text, and animation all on one page.
  • Narration - narrate a story in an interesting way using a sound recorder and import or record your voice directly on to the page.
  • Creating multi-modal projects using text, sound and animation, great for presenting a science experiment, for example.
  • Developing math skills by using number lines and grids to work out sequences and patterns.
  • Evaluating prose (for example a piece of poetry) as a class, highlighting key patterns and meanings with the annotation tools and using it as a basis for structuring a class poem using writing frames.
  • Expanding students' memories by using eye-catching and rich multimedia such as videos or interactive Flash activities as part of your teaching; for example, use videos to enhance your teaching of geography.
  • Keeping students motivated and focused on a task for longer by using the whiteboard interactively, allowing all pupils to get involved in the lesson.

Easy to use and export - The easily-accessible toolbars and widgets allow you to work quickly in creating whole-class teaching activities to fit with your learning objectives. Activities can be exported as jpegs, pdfs or Common File Format (.iwf) files, then opened, edited and saved across many different whiteboard applications and shared with others.

Key Features*
RM Easiteach has a range of key features, which make it the ideal software application for whatever hardware your school may use for whole class teaching, including:
  • Multi-device - RM Easiteach works on all interactive whiteboards as well as on other forms of hardware equipment used for teaching for example classpads, netbooks or voting devices. This means that no matter what equipment is used in your school, RM Easiteach can ensure consistency for training, teaching and sharing resources. The ability to import and export RM Easiteach documents as .iwb files also means you are not restricted by the software.
  • Media bank - The localized and searchable media bank within RM Easiteach comprises over 4,500 curriculum-based resources including over 70 videos. The media bank enables users to search for and add multimedia assets to a page and is accessible by selecting the multimedia button on the RM Easiteach menu bar.
  • Multi-touch - Supports object manipulation on multi-touch devices, enabling users to enlarge and maneuver objects they have created with the tips of their fingers! This is ideal for encouraging students to interact directly with the interactive whiteboard and is perfect for use during presentations. NOTE: Currently not available when using Mac OSX versions. Updates coming soon!
  • Text-to-speech capabilities - Type letters, words and sentences on to a page and listen to them being read back to you. The text-to-speech functionality within RM Easiteach enables text on the page to be read by one of the voices installed in your operating system. Text-to-speech can read both single words and whole blocks of text within a text box. This feature is available in a wide variety of languages.
  • Handwriting and Shape Recognition - Write words or draw shapes freehand and the writing and shape recognition tools within RM Easiteach Next Generation will recognize your markings. You can either write or draw images with your mouse on a computer screen, or use your interactive whiteboard pen, and the handwriting and shape recognition tool will transform your markings in typed copy or shaped objects with sharpened edges.
  • Widget bank - Access a range of mini-applications that bring you a growing bank of added extras such as, calculator, clock, periodic table, protractor, picture reveal, dice, random item generator, navigator and more. There are currently over 40 widgets available in the bank with more to be added with each new release.
  • Literacy and Language tools - There are a wide variety of language tools built-in to RM Easiteach that will help you to quickly and simply create activities for your whole class. These tools include a cloze tool (for creating missing words activities), remove punctuation tool (ideal for testing punctuation knowledge by removing all punctuation from a block of text and asking your class to put it back in the right place) and word wallet (for use alongside the cloze and remove punctuation tools).
  • Numeracy tools - A wide range of numeracy tools available with RM Easiteach Next Generation assist you in creating simple but effective whole class activities for use in Maths lessons. Some of the numeracy tools available include number lines, number grids and an equation builder.
