I couldn't find the definition for Invective. The off-line dictionaries app, which incidently uses the same wordnet database, had the definition.

Thesaurus? Not really. Dictionary? Not if you want definitions. Akin to the "Collegiate" dictionaries, this one provides other, familiar, words.

Not useful if you don't know the words. It try to explain unfamiliar words with even rarely used ones. It's not for daily life.
