The facilitator will introduce the cell theory and give a brief introduction to organelles. The students will be sorted into groups and assigned an organelle. It may be more fun for the students to hold a brief lottery for organelle assignment. The students will spend approximately 20 minutes doing research either in the book or on their personal devise. Another 20 minutes is used to design and cut out their paper organelles.
The students will disperse their paper organelles to the other groups and one for themselves before during or after their presentations. The paper organelles will fit onto a "blank cell model" that can be a circle drawn on a poster, a cardboard cutout or a stool top.

- The students are given the chance to create and present their own ideas.
- Grades can be given on the presentation, the group effort, quality of product or placement of organelles on cell model.
This was an easy PBL that took an entire block class period.
