I love mysteries, cookbooks, and gardening books. I read a lot of children's books and current favorites are: "Fabled Fourth Graders of Aesop Elementary School", "Skippyjon Jones" books, author Hanoch Piven's books, and "The Word Eater".
Reading! Cooking, gardening, and travel.
Employment History:
I have been with the Virginia Beach City Public School system for 6 years. I went back to college to get my certification as an LMS to work in the schools. Prior to that I had worked in publishing and the medical field as an AA.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love the interaction with the children and the opportunity to make a difference in their school experiences. It is the most demanding job I have ever held, but also the most rewarding. I am continuously having to re-evaluate my learning and grow while I am helping the students grow. I love it!
