Class Information:
Students per Class: 25
Class Description:
I teach fourth grade math & science in a very high poverty school.
We need a Flip. We would use this to document our learning and to create cross-curricular learning for all subjects.
My Philosophy:
Learning is a verb and verbs are action words. Therefore, learning should be active, engaging and meaningful. There are no wrong answers, just answers that don't work, so we need to try something else in order to find the working combination. Answers that work and those that don't, both involve learning.
Personal Information:
About Me:
This is my 5th year teaching. I work in a high poverty school and love it dearly. It is my desire to help my students reach their highest potential.
College and Degrees:
Associates degree from Waycross College; Bachelors and Masters degrees from Armstrong Atlantic State University
My personal kids. Cleaning (I'm a little OCD) =0) Working on future lessons. Looking for new technologies to inspire and guide my students into tomorrow.
Favorite Books:
I just like to read...
Favorite Quotes:
"People who spell things one way lack imagination." Mark Twain
Technology, tennis, jogging, really anything can be interesting if it's presented in the right way.
Employment History:
Wayne County Board of Education 2007-2011
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I desire to help create productive citizens for tomorrow. We need students who can operate in a fast-paced global world as well as have the skills needed to critically think and solve the problems that will arise in daily life. Students should be able to take true learning from "paper" and put it into real-life action seamlessly, true learning will change their lives forever and for the better. I teach because I want to be the person that helps them discover all the potential they each have and to make the most of it.
