Rodriguez Elementary School
Hometown:
Peoria, Il
Class Information:
Room Number: 205
Students per Class: 23
Class Description:
Many of my students have at least 1 family member serving time. Several of my students are from single households, with parents who did not finish high school. I teach in a very low SES school and I want my children to know that they can make it in this world even though they don't have the same advantages as a lot of middle and upper class students.
Position:
ESL Teacher
Needs:
We are in desperate need of technology. I am in the process of taking several workshops due to this also being one of my own weaknesses since I didn't grow up with today's technology.
My Philosophy:
Everyone of my students deserves a chance to learn what this world has to offer. To do this these students need to learn the importance of how computers, projectors, electronic microscopes, ect... impact our social and business world, and our learning. Give the child a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the child how to fish, he feeds himself. Talk about technology, the child may get some of what is being said. Give the child some technology he can touch and use and open up the child's whole world.
