Class Description:
In the fall, I will begin my seventh year of teaching. This will be my first year of teaching at Gilmer Elementary School in Gilmer, Texas. It will also be my first year of teaching second grade. I will teach two classes of Language Arts, and I will work with a partner teacher who will teach two classes of Math. I do not know the details of my students yet, but I look forward to meeting them!

Needs:
My principal has identified a need of more ipads in classrooms. I would love to have a new Clip Art program so that my students can create books and publish various products that show their growth in writing and their reading comprehension.
My Philosophy:
I believe that it is my job as an educator to work diligently to ensure that every child grows academically, socially, and emotionally. Not all children will grow at the same pace, and I must identify the best avenues in which to teach my students. As a Language Arts teacher, I desire to help them become fluent readers that comprehend the material set before them, as well as gaining a lifelong love of reading.

About Me:
I am about to begin my seventh year of teaching. I love teaching Language Arts because I love to read! I have a wonderful husband and sweet stepdaughter, along with having five dogs!
College and Degrees:
I graduate with my Bachelors in InterdisciplinaryStudies in May of 2006, and I will finish my Masters in Library Science in December of 2012.
Activities:
I love reading, shopping, and spending time with my friends and family.
