Class Description:
My classroom will be home to students in grades 5,6,7,&8. The students in my class will have the opportunity to learn science through a hands on approach. I plan to employ labs and creative actvities for the students to learn.

Needs:
I love technology and I feel this is a way to help students to learn. I would like the use of Apple computers for the students to learn and teach at the same time. I feel that if the students can learn to use the Apples, we can create podcasts that can be used by younger students. Therefore, we would need the computers, software, and ipods to create a science libary of podcasts.
My Philosophy:
Make science education easier and more understandable using technology, hands-on activities, and creativity.

About Me:
I am a sixth year educator in North Central Alabama. I have spent the first 5 years of my career teachin 9-12 grade science. During that time I have had the opportunity to establish and aquaculture program at the high school level. I intend to carry on my work with the aquaculture at the middle school level where I am teaching now.
College and Degrees:
B.S. 2002- Biology and General Science Universityof Alabama in Huntsville Workingtoward a M.S. in Biology.

Rocket Boys or October Sky, Hot Zone, Demon in the Freezer
Interests:
Fish, computers, goats, chickens,(farming),alternative energy and ways to help the environment

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to make the world of science come alive for the youth our country. I love seeing the expression on the child's face when they finally "get it."
