Class Information:
Class Description:
I work with inner city students in a traditional classroom setting. My students often come with many issues going on in their home lives but throughout the year we work on not only building our math skills, but what it means to be a successful and well rounded person.
Position:
Upper School Math Teacher
Needs:
Any sort of technology. In my school teachers are provided only with an overhead projector for their rooms. As a math teacher we have scientific calculators for students but graphing calculators would be beneficial for our visial learners here as well. I am currently working towards raising funds for a smart board to display interactive notes to increase productivity time in the classroom.
My Philosophy:
I believe one of the the most important things in a school is the relationship between the teacher and student. All of my students know that I care about them and want to see them succeed in all areas of their life. Once they know that I am willing to put in the 110% effort for them, they are willing to do the same for me when it comes to their education.
Personal Information:
Why Do I Teach?:
I work with students grades 8-11 teaching Algebra 1, 2, and Geometry.
