Class Description:
We are a rural community in Central Utah with 30% Hispanic students in our school. Most students are mid-income families that work locally in agriculture related fields. My class this year includes 10 boys and 11 girls, with one student with several learning disabilities. Our total school population is around 320 with grades K-6th.
Position:
Teacher/Tech Specialist
Needs:
Our school was fortunate to participate in a technology grant about 6 years ago. We received 4 digital cameras and 3 digital movie cameras for our classroom at that time. We also have the use of a mobile iBook lab set of computers that are shared between 4th to 6th grade. We need some new digital cameras --our old cameras do not always work with our newer computers due to changes in technology. My students use the cameras for many projects, so it would be great if we could receive 4-6 new cameras.

About Me:
I was raised in So. California, graduated from BYU in Utah and have lived here ever since. I have 5 children - all grown- with 7 grandchildren. I was widowed for 11 years, but remarried two years ago and gained 3 sons and 6 more grandchildren, plus a wonderful husband!!
College and Degrees:
Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, 1970 Masters of Learning and Technology from Western Governor's Univ., 2003
Activities:
I love spending time with my family especially those grandkids!! I am active in my Church and spend time working with young people there. My husband and I love spending time together traveling and being with friends - life is good!
Favorite Books:
Harry Potter, anything by Avi, Grisham books (all of them), Mary Higgins Clark (I have all of them too:-) --currently the Stephanie Myers books about Edward!!!

Interests:
Love to read and sew - especially for my grandchildren. I also love to travel with my husband in our 85 red Corvette!!
Employment History:
I taught for 3 years from 1970-1973 in Granite School District in Salt Lake City, Utah. I taught 1 and 2 grades. Since 1986 I have taught in North Sanpete School District in Central Utah, teaching grades 4-6, currently 6th.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love it!!! My 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Ocker, inspired me years ago, and I still love teaching today. I love working with students and seeing them learn and grow. I enjoy learning from my students also and maintaining close relationships with them after they leave my class.
