Class Information:
Students per Class: 200
Reading Coach
I really need some FLIP video cameras, so I can enhance the educational technology of my students. I want us to be able to record important school moments, create student centered presentations, & just reveal to my babies how fun learning & technology can really be.
My Philosophy:
All students are capable of learning on some level. We need only meet students where they are at this moment.
Personal Information:
About Me:
Hi! I'm Amy Hurst. I am a Reading Coach at a small, urban school named Constantine Elementary. I love the time I spend with students and teachers, and I hope that over the course of my career, that I can change many lives for the better.
College and Degrees:
I have an A.S. in Computer Science, B.S. in Elementary Education, and most recently an M.S. in Elementary Education w/ a technology option. I spent most of my school career at Jacksonville State University, right here in Alabama.
I love to read, run, swim, bicycle, geocache. You name it & I probably enjoy doing it, especially if it happens outdoors.
Favorite Books:
I'm a huge Dean Koontz fan! Right now I am reading a collection of short stories by Stephen King.
Favorite Quotes:
He who laughs most, learns best. John Cleese
Teaching (duh), I have a zillion hobbies, way too many to list.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love kids! I love the look of understanding on a person's face, when at last they understand something new. I also love the million hugs I get everyday~
