Objectives: Following series of presentations, demonstrations, practical applications, students will

1. Identify the reasons for having different portfolios;
2. Determine what collection of documents, photographs, and other artifacts are appropriate;
3. Select an appropriate device for safe storage and retrieval of documents;
4. Begin the devlopment of their Master Career Portfolios;
5. Continue gathering their treasures approrpiate to their field of study and career plans;
6. As they approach the end on tenth grade, begin to develop a targeted portfolio for college applications;
7. Continue developing targeted career portfolios for job interviews in connection with developing job interviewing skills and writing resumes;
8. Pursue multiple formats for TArgeted Career Portfolios.

Classes will be held once a week and will cover the components of the portfolio. Subsequent classes will begin the organization of thie portfolios.

Movies and snapshots will be used to assist student in their documentation on community service activities, job shadowing activities, internships, and other relevant activities.

Day 1: Cover the importance of a portfolio. Explain in detail the need for a portfolio, why a portfolio will be useful. Explain that important activities and experiences they have in ninth grade will often be forgotten when they attempt to reacall experiences related to their career and leadership choices.

Periodically throughout the year, we will take pictures and video of activities, ultimately creating a digital or paper portfolios for every student.
