What is Digital Wish?
Digital Wish is on a mission to modernize classrooms and prepare students for tomorrow's workforce. Digital Wish provides a platform for educators to develop wish lists, share lesson plans, purchase technology, or find donors for their classrooms. By streamlining and targeting the process of giving, Digital Wish allows large and small-scale donors to directly impact their local schools.
How do you cover your operating costs?
Digital Wish relies on foundational grants and additional donations to fund its overhead, website development, and matching grants. We are proud to be supported by organizations such as the Draper Richards Foundation and Flip Video. Please make a donation to Digital Wish and help us to maintain and expand our operations!
Who can donate through Digital Wish?
Anyone can donate through Digital Wish! PTAs, companies, individuals, even teachers can use our site to make donations of any item or amount to classrooms.
How are my donations used?
100% of your donations fund the classrooms of your choice. All cash and product donations are tax-deductible, and resources ship directly to the schools, so there is virtually no risk that funds will ever be misallocated. Digital Wish has partnered with technology companies to match every dollar with an additional 2%-10% in donations on every product purchase. There is never any cost associated with making donations, so 102%-110% of all donated funds benefit classroom teachers and their students.
Are there any fees for donating?
No, there are no fees for donating.
What can I donate?
You can donate any of the products on our website, or you can donate cash directly to teachers and schools, which they can use to purchase the technology items they need most for their classrooms.
How can companies get involved?
Digital Wish can administer large and small grants for companies of any size or location. We can customize a giving program to fit each organization's giving priorities based on region, interests or need. If your company is a manufacturer of technology items, Digital Wish can also administer product donations to the schools of your choice. Are donations to Digital Wish tax deductible?
Yes, all donations made on our website are tax deductible. You will receive an emailed receipt after each donation, and we email receipts again at the end of the year with the total amount donated that year. Download our W-9 here.
Your Account:
Can I set up a donor profile on Digital Wish?
Absolutely. When you make a donation, you will be asked to register on the site, and given the option to set up a donor profile with information about yourself and why you give. Donors have the ability to choose a public or a private setting for their profile. Teachers will not have the ability to contact you through your profile if you do not wish them to.
Can I make anonymous donations?
Yes. You will have the chance to select "anonymous" during the registration process.
Can I make my profile public?
Yes. You can edit your profile to make it public or private.
What is the difference between a private profile and an anonymous one?
Donors with a private profile still make donations under their name, or their company's name, however the profile is not viewable to anyone on our website. Anonymous donations are made anonymously, meaning teachers will not a see a donor name associated with the donation.
Purchasing:
Can I give to more than one classroom or school at a time?
Digital Wish makes it possible to select all of the schools in any county and give donations to all the local schools with one single transaction. Use "Find a School" from the top banner to find your county, and click on the "Donate to County" button at the top of the page. Donors can donate to every school in a county with just the click of a button! You can also choose specific schools, vary the amount given to each school, or narrow your giving to schools with registered teachers.
Where do I find my Order Number?
Your order number is listed at the top of your order, under the Digital Wish logo on the left hand side. You can view all of your current and previous orders from My Account by clicking on Order Status.

Digital Wish and Flip Video are proud to offer a special matching program for educators. It was designed to make video technology more accessible and help teachers affordably integrate video into the classroom. Anyone can purchase a Flip Ultra camcorder for their favorite classroom and Flip Video will match every purchase with a second camcorder for free! With this matching program educators and donors can easily put the power of video into classrooms across the US.
Who qualifies for this promotion?
This promotion is limited to full-time educators at K-12 public or non-profit schools with 501(c)3 status. The camcorders must be property of the school where the teacher works. For these reasons school districts, pre-schools and educational agencies do not qualify for this promotion. Educators who don't qualify for this promotion can contact orders@theflip.com.
Is there a limit of how many I can donate?
There is a limit of four cameras per educator. There is no limit per school.
Can I donate Flips directly to a school or district?
Flips Camcorders are donated on a per-classroom basis. For this reason they must be allocated to a specific teacher's classroom and not the school or district as a whole.

Who is eligible to register?
We invite anyone who is a part of a non-profit organization serving PreK-12 students to register for Digital Wish. Therefore, teachers, administrators, district technology coordinators, public libraries, principals, YMCAs, charter schools, and more are welcome to join Digital Wish. Please be aware that some of our promotional programs may have different restrictions or requirements which will be noted on the product page.
My school isn't on the list. Can I still register?
If you are a non-profit educational institution serving PreK-12 students you are eligible to register, even if your school is not currently on the list. You can add your school to Digital Wish during the registration process. After being prompted to click on your state and county, you will be taken to a page with a drop-down menu of the schools in that county. If your school is not on this list, click the "Add a School" button (on the right hand side). Fill in your school's information, and click "Finish." This will add your school to our database.
Why do you need my Federal Tax ID number and where do I find it?
Your school's Federal Tax ID Number is a nine-digit number that is issued on a district level. Digital Wish needs this number to prove tax exemption and non-profit status for your school. Once collected, the numbers are kept private. Some schools will not give this number out to teachers and prefer to fax it to Digital Wish directly at 845-402-7242. This will allow you and other teachers at your school to register.
What do I do if I forgot my Username and Password?
You can retrieve your username and password here by entering the email you used to register your account.
How do I move my profile to a different school?
Changing schools is easy. Login to your account and click on "Find a School" to locate your school. Select the school and scroll down past the teachers. On the left you will see a blue link that says "Move me to this school." Once you confirm, you'll be all set. All of your orders will be moved with you.
What's the difference between a comment and a message?
Both comments and messages are sent to your friends. Your friend can approve a comment to be posted publicly on their profile page, although they might choose not to. A message can not be posted publicly, but will instead be sent to your friend's inbox, similar to how an e-mail message is sent.
Why haven't I received any donations yet?
Digital Wish is based around the concept of engaging your network. Share your profile with your family, friends, and community members! To generate donations, you can email or print your wish list directly from your profile page. Also, check out our Fundraising Ideas for more details on sharing your wish list. Make your profile as detailed as possible; donors love to gain a personal connection to a classroom. As an added bonus, you might get featured on the Digital Wish home page!
How do I edit or delete my account?
You can edit your account information, such as your profile, wish list, friends, etc., from the My Account page by clicking on "Edit Profile." Click on the link that corresponds to the function you wish to edit. You can delete your account by clicking the link "Delete My Account" in the settings when you edit your profile.
Purchasing:
How do I pay by Purchase Order?
Digital Wish is a cash-forward organization and we donate our profit margin back to teachers. For this reason we require full payment before we can process orders. If your school needs to send a purchase order, a check must accompany it. Instructions on the proper way to pay with a PO can be found here.

What if the product I want to donate isn't listed on the site?
If you are a registered teacher, you can make a product suggestion from the My Account page. Click on My Account, and then Make a Product Suggestion along the right hand side. Digital Wish staff will process your request. Please note that making a product suggestion does not guarantee that a product will be listed on the site.
Can I purchase something for more than just myself?
Yes. You can put products in your cart and change the recipient to another classroom, or you can click the link that says, "Purchase this item for another classroom" and buy the product for multiple recipients. Use the classroom locator to choose what school or classroom receives it.
Can I make donations?
Yes. Unless you want your donation to be anonymous or under a different name you can donate right from your teacher account. All donations are tax deductible.
How does cash back work?
Digital Wish has partnered with technology companies to match every dollar with an additional 2%-10% in donations on every product purchase. The additional funds will automatically show up in your Cash On Hand after each purchase and can be used towards future purchases.
What is Cash On Hand and how do I use it?
Cash on hand is money that was donated to you by a donor or Digital Wish. You can see your cash on hand from the My Account page. If you click on "Cash On Hand" you can see where the funds came from. To use it, simply shop for items and click the button in your shopping cart that says "Use Funds." Those funds will then be applied to your purchase.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is 8% of every order. Orders to different teachers must be mailed separately in order to keep track of quantity limits per teacher.
Can I keep the Flips if I use my own money?
All purchases made on our website must become property of the school. If you wish to use your own money you would be making a tax-deductible donation to your school.
Is there a limit of how many Flips my school can purchase?
Each educator can have up to four Flip camcorders allocated to their classroom. There is no limit to how many camcorders a school can own.
How do I pay by Purchase Order?
This is a matching grant program. Payment needs to be up-front, in order to be matched. For this reason we require full payment before we can process orders. If your school needs to send a purchase order, a check must accompany it. Instructions on the proper way to pay with a PO can be found here.
Can I have the Flips shipped to my home address?
All products purchased from Digital Wish must be shipped to schools.
