Keywords: digital camera, humpty dumpty
Subject(s): English/Language Arts, Technology
Grades K through 2
School: De Diego Community Academy, Chicago, IL
Planned By: Noelia Romero
Original Author: Noelia Romero, Chicago
Objectives: Students will write their own version of the Humpty Dumpty poem using their own name.

Procedure:
Teacher will introduce the Humpty Dumpty poem to the students. Students and teacher will read the poem together.
Students will then write the poem but this time using their name instead of Humpty Dumpty. While the students copy the poem, the teacher will take a picture of every student pretending to be sitting on a wall.
Once the students are finished writing their poem, they will get a copy of their picture. Students will then cut out their picture and glue it to the top of their poem, as if the were sitting on the top of a wall. Once the picture is cut out and in place, students will decorate the poem to make it look like a wall and as if they were sitting on top of it.

This is a fun and easy project and the result looks awesome. This could be modified to be used in first and second grade by having the students create their own poem, or typing it out instead of wrting it out.
