Lesson Procedures: 1. At mid-term (approximately three weeks), students will script pod cast according to the recommended pod cast script worksheet. Items to be included are GPA, class goal current or new action plan, number of times absent, above the line/below the line behaviors, current unit of study, favorite activity. Students will also discuss current assignment and progress of the assignment. 2. Students will work with shoulder partner (Kagen method of partnering: High, High-Medium, Medium-Low, and Low groups of four. Shoulder partner will be High and High-Medium and Low and Medium-Low students) to photograph various stages of the current classroom assignment as well as classroom procedures (Above the Line and Below the Line class poster, beginning procedures, ending procedures, etc.) 3. Students will create pod cast on computer and save the pod cast within the designated student folder. All digital images will also be saved in student folder on the computer. 4. Students will use movie publishing software to create a movie/slideshow that demonstrates class procedures and assignments to parents. This movie will include audio (pod cast) that explains procedures and assignment progress. The assignment segment should show parents how students are progressing through the assignment throughout the various stages (beginning, creations, and completion). Students should be able to effectively discuss and communicate goals of the assignment to parents through the audio segment. Class procedures can include what students are required to do each day at the beginning and end of class (one time only) as well as what students are required to do during each unit. The objective is to have parents understand that students share ownership of the learning environment and the flow of class activities. 5. Upon completion of the assignment students will publish the movie/slideshow and upload the completed assignment into BlackBoard (a virtual classroom environment that allows parents to track classroom activities). 6. Assessment will follow rubrics for Pod Casting and MultiMedia Presentations.
