Day 1: Discuss as a class and in small groups hand out relating to types of advertising used on teens and people in general. What it is, why it works, examples.
Day 2: Pick a project topic and grade level to educate. In your media production group fill in a handout on the types of things that specific age group will like and be able to respond to (music, graphics, etc). Research topic.
Day 3: Learn about storyboarding, script writing and camera angles. Watch effective as well as ineffective uses of all. Discuss in your media production groups the beginnings of your plan (brainstorm) and report to teacher.
Day 4: Storyboard your media production ideas (spcific and detailed). Script and camera angle your video. Assign equipment needs for video production.
Day 5 & 6: Learn about cameras and video tape each project.
Day 7: Load video and edit.
Day 8 & 9: Edit add titles, transitions & music. Be mindful of the advertising techniques that you are using.
Day 10: Transfer video to DVD make chapters, menus, and burn DVD for each group memeber.
Day 11: Turn in and show to classes as well as at lunch. Teacher will share with local TV station for PSA. Teaher will hsare with local Health department as well as elementary schools for impact message. |

| This project combines many aspects of media and health including learning about advertising, learning about health related issues (HIV, Bullying, etc) as well as in a thoughtful manner speaking to an audience and doing it in such a way that you have a strong (and research supported) message. It is LOADS of fun and the kids LOVE it! |

| Show videos on the local TV station (we are rural), give to elementary and junior high classes. |
